On Sunday I turn 40. Damn, time has flown by! I've been in and out of a minor depression concerning the loss of my youth all day, but suddenly my mood changed when I was sent the best birthday present ever!
Last year, Johnny Cash's best friend of many years, Bill Miller, wrote me a fan letter saying that he and his wife were big fans of my photography. He even said that had Johnny seen my work, he would've liked it too. I have my doubts about that, but we'll never know.
Anyway, he sent me a copy of the book he and Johnny compiled of Johnny's life called "Cash: An American Man". Once I opened it, I froze in disbelief to find that not only had Bill Miller signed it, but Johnny Cash signed it as well!
Johnny Cash has been a major source of inspiration to me in both my artistic and personal life. To have this wonderful memento means so much to me. Thanks Bill and Johnny!

ReplyDeleteThat has got to be the best thing! American IV converted me to his music fully. I always loved certain songs but I really got him later on. I'm so jealous of you for getting that book. :)
