Myspace is now censoring

Yesterday I had written to a friend on Myspace, and I had to use the words "sex toys" in order to describe what the Stockroom sold. When they received the email, Myspace had replaced "sex toys" with ### ####. And then this morning, my photographer buddy Geoff Cordner informed me that Myspace had removed all links to his site from his Myspace profile. I tried it on my profile, and sure enough, all links to my site now direct to the Myspace home page. Umm, I think we're living in China now.

Aradia Ardor, Los Angeles 2007

I know I've been lazy about posting the sexy stuff lately but part of the reason is that I haven't been shooting that much. Since August, I've only done 3 personal shoots (Ulorin Vex, Aradia Ardor, and Jade Vixen). I go through long periods of non-inspiration during which I work more on business or promotional aspects of my art. Since September I've been working on my new, long-delayed book which should be released by March. More information later...

Stormy Leather Shoot

This is a shot of me with Shae during our Stormy Leather shoot last week. We shot some Syren stuff too, hence the latex she's wearing. The Stormy website has been in great need of redesign since Stockroom bought them earlier this year. Soon it will have a great new look so no more cheesy photos. If you want a good laugh, go there soon before it gets classed up!

Glass Slipper

Snapped with my Treo, I came across this nice little scene the other day of an abandoned shoe in a pile of broken car window glass.

Sorry for not posting much lately. I've had that damn illness a lot of people have right now. It lingers and won't go away. I hear it lasts 3-4 weeks. I've just started week 2. Ughh.

Luckily my cold hasn't stopped me working on my big secret project for early 2008. Details will be forthcoming once I have an estimated date of completion. And because of this project, I haven't been shooting much at all for the past 5 months. Besides doing some commercial stuff for Stockroom/Syren/Stormy, I've only done 3 personal shoots within that amount of time.

For those of you who don't mind looking at my non-erotic work, I just put up a new gallery on my GoeddeImages site. You can view it here if you're so inclined to check it out.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

New Site Design

I just did a redesign of SteveDietGoedde.com and added some new images. If you're curious, please take a look. I decided to keep only a small amount of older, classic images on the site and instead moved them to a public Flickr gallery where you can now view over 100 images. If you wish to see nude images, make sure that you can view 'restricted' work in your profile preferences.

Miss Conduct, Los Angeles 2007

Time has been going by so fast that I just realized that I hadn't posted anything in a while. Here's a new photograph of Miss Conduct shot over the weekend wearing a dress by Syren. I'll have some other new work to share soon!

Without todays, there won't be any tomorrows

I was saddened to hear the news this morning of the death of Tom Snyder. He played a major part of my development when I was a kid. I remember trying desperately to stay past the Tonight Show to watch the Tomorrow Show. It was there that I was introduced to many pillars of today's alt-culture. I was in awe seeing such acts as Nina Hagen, Iggy Pop, the Plasmatics, the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Public Image Limited, and Elvis Costello. It was also where I first saw John Waters and Divine. I was only 12-years-old but he planted the seeds of what made me who I am today.

The Tomorrow Show - Punk & New Wave

Oddly enough, yesterday I was having conversations about both Tom Snyder and Ingmar Bergman who also died yesterday. Creepy!

A pairing of photographs that I did of Eden in Berlin. We shot these outside the venue of the German Fetish Ball the afternoon before the event. All natural light, no manipulations.

Stockroom/Syren Desert Shoot

Some new photos I did for Stockroom/Syren a few weeks ago featuring Justine Joli and Kimberly Kane. We did an exhaustive 2-day shoot out in the middle of the 110-degree desert. Luckily, we shot at an old 1960s house (with pool) which allowed us to duck inside when the heat got too bad.

BTW, Syren is NOT going out of business. They were thinking of closing the Beverly Blvd store and moving to a bigger location in Silverlake. That will probably happen but not for at least another few months. Some people got the information all wrong and the rumors started flying. Syren is doing quite well and even got the costume commission for a major studio movie adaptation of a certain graphic novel which will be out next year.

Oh! Bondage Ball is tomorrow night (Independence Day eve) at the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood. I will be showing work along with Perry Gallagher, Micheal Helms, Christine Kessler, and Ken Marcus. Click the link for more info.

Bow Wow Wow, Hollywood 1998

Going through some old files the other day, I ran across some photos I took of Annabella and Leigh from Bow Wow Wow. I took them in Rodney Bingenheimer's living room in Hollywood in 1998.

Steve Dieting Plan Goedde

Ha ha! I get these link requests all the time. They never fail to make me laugh...

Hello,

I have just finished putting together an extensive website on dieting. I have reviewed all the major diet plans available on the market today. Along with the reviews I have done outlines on hundreds of different diet plans.

I would like to share my site with the world and I think that teaming together with your site http://www.stevedietgoedde.com will benefit both of our site immensely.

If you are interested in a link partnership with me please let me know.

Thank You,
David

Might as well JUMP!

Miss Conduct and I went down to the Salton Sea to do a photoshoot a few weeks ago. I don't have any of the film back yet, but here's a fun behind-the-scenes photo. I can't remember what she was so excited by, but it does beg a funny caption.

Eiffel Cone

Back in the USSA

[NOTE: This post was written on June 5, 2007]

Got back from Europe on Sunday. The above photo was taken at my gate at Heathrow before I boarded my plane back to LA. Once I arrived at LAX, I ended up setting off the radiation alarms in customs due to some radiation testing I had to go through the day before my trip. Good thing I had my doctor's notes on me so I wasn't suspected of carrying something more sinister into the country. Seems like there's something wrong with my heart, and my cardiologist is trying to figure out what's going on. Apparently I've got some artery blockage even though I've always had outstanding cholesterol and have never smoked ever in my life. More tests later this week.

Other than that, I'm dealing with jet-lag, but not too bad. I'm just a few hours off my usual schedule, and I anticipate I'll be normal by the weekend. I've been planning a big blog update about the trip in my head but the task seems too overwhelming to me. My trip was so big and varied that I feel it would take a day to compile all the notes and sort out all the photos. I've got a lot to share and am anxious to work on it. Just have to find the proper time and motivation. More soon...

Greece is the Word

[NOTE: This post was originally written on June 1, 2007]

Greetings from Greece! Just got back to the mainland (Piraeus) from a 3-day excursion to the Island of Aegina. Mucho thanks to Kumi and Ostanine for their never-ending hospitality. We saw many ancient sites, ate great food, and did some fun photoshoots. More details later...

More photos at my Flickr page.

German Fetish Ball, over and out

[NOTE: This post was written on May 28, 2007]

Phew! Last night was the final culmination of the German Fetish Ball weekend. Now I go rest up in Greece! All the performances were top-notch. Here are a few stage pics from the most memorable shows. Above, Syren

Berlin, May 2007 update

[NOTE: This entry was written on MAY 26, 2007]

Because I had limited internet access for the past week, this is my long-delayed first dispatch from overseas.

My trip to Paris was great, thanks to my good friend JeffC (and his girlfriend Carrie) who had been house-sitting a nice apartment for his aunt. The apartment was within walking distance to many of the sights in Paris. I even had a view of the Eiffel Tower from my bed. With the exception of a mini-shoot with Jeff's girlfriend, I didn't do any shooting mainly because I was more interested in being a tourist (my first time to Paris). I posted a bunch of my snapshots with commentary on my Flickr account. Feel free to take a look if you're interested in seeing random touristy shots, self-portraits, and some of my usual artsy-fartsy point-n-shoot shit.

On Wednesday, I arrived in Berlin. Martin Pelzer and Nola are my wonderful hosts. Courtney Cruz (pictured above) is also staying here while organizing the Syren fashion show for the ball on Sunday. I did a fantastic shoot with Nola yesterday and have a shoot with Ulorin Vex later this afternoon. On Sunday I'm working with the beautiful Eden. Last night was Kinky Cocktails which was the first night of the GERMAN FETISH BALL weekend. Martin posted a few party pics on his LiveJournal this morning. Tonight is the Fetish Revolution party at which I'm showing a large collection of new photography. And Sunday is the actual German Fetish Ball. I have to be careful and not have TOO much fun that night because the next day I leave for Athens to hang with Kumi, Ostanine, and Midori. Phew!

German Fetish Ball 2007

In a few weeks, I head off to Berlin for the GERMAN FETISH BALL. On Saturday, May 26 I will be showing a large collection of old and new work via digital projection at REVOLUTION II. I look forward to meeting old and new friends. I haven't been to Berlin since Midori and I did our joint book tour in 2002(?). Thanks to Martin Pelzer for setting everything up!

Before Berlin, I'll be hanging out in Paris meeting with galleries and publishers. Who knows, maybe I'll have some time to do some shooting. I've got some shoots lined up in Berlin already and am anxious to shoot there. After Berlin, I'm heading to Greece to relax with Kumi and Midori in the Mediterranean heat. After Paris and Berlin, I'll definitely need some relaxation.

Noel, Los Angeles 2007

A nice shot of beautiful Noel from a few weeks ago. As usual, all available light with no manipulation. We only had about 3 minutes to take this shot. The sun disappeared over the hills immediately after it was taken.

A Glimpse of Others

It's always cool to see how other photographers work. Here's a nicely entertaining clip of Eric Kroll constructing a scene and getting a final result.

Jodorowsky on DVD!

I've been waiting 20 years for this release. Jodorowsky has always been a huge influence on me, and it's a pleasure to finally have authorized versions of his films (restored beautifully and with commentary!). No more VHS bootlegs on Japanese Laserdiscs!

From DVD Talk: "One of cult cinemas holy grails is finally unleashed with this boxed set, The Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky. Long held up in a dispute between Jodorowsky and producer Allen Klein of ABCKO Films, fans have had to make do with inferior bootleg copies for decades. With the two men having finally made peace with one another, Anchor Bay has given us a fantastic boxed set compilation which includes El Topo and The Holy Mountain on authorized DVD for the first time alongside the previously issued Fando Y Lis and accompanied by Jodorowsky first movie, La Cravate, long thought to be lost for good and only recently found in Germany. Completed with the full participation of the director and featuring all new high definition sourced transfers which he personally approved, this boxed set is literally a dream come true for fans of surrealist and unusual cinema."

Shien Lee, Hollywood 2007

Some pics from a few weeks ago with my friend Shien Lee from Montreal. This was my first shoot since the Ulorin Vex shoot in early February. It seems like I'm doing fewer personal shoots lately, but then again I usually don't shoot much during the winter months (colder and fewer hours of daylight). This past weekend, I did some wonderful work with Noel from Seattle and will be posting some of those soon.

The New Erotic Photography

On eBay, I just listed a copy of the new Taschen book The New Erotic Photography along with a signed source print of one of my published photos in the book. The auction can be found HERE.

From the publisher: "Imagine walking into a room filled with the world's finest contemporary erotic photographers, each with a portfolio of his or her best work. As you browse the photographs they discuss inspiration, censorship, how to find models, and how to make a living capturing beautiful women on film and in pixels. The New Erotic Photography is the room, and 82 photographers from 14 countries are the hosts of this intimate gathering. In this 608 page volume you will meet Ralph Gibson, Jan Saudek, Terry Richardson, Natacha Merritt, Petter Hegre, Richard Kern, Bob Carlos Clarke, Thomas Karsten and the many fresh new talents currently redefining eroticism. Playful, provocative and exuberantly sexy, these aren't your granddad's art nudes; this is The New Erotic Photography."

SIGNING TONIGHT (3/29/07): If you're in San Francisco tonight, Eric Kroll is hosting a signing of the book with local SF photographers. Unfortunately I couldn't make it up there to join in on the fun. More info at Foto-Grafix Books.

Angela Ryan, Los Angeles 2007

Angela Ryan and I shot this past weekend, and we came up with some nice images. There is another shot on the front page of my website. Pamela Vain did a great job with the hair/make-up. When we were done with the formal shoot, I shot the following snapshot.
